Shandong hospital offers mental health services to troops

Binzhou City Youfu Hospital, a specialist medical treatment provider, has been boosting the morale and combat readiness of troops stationed in Binzhou city – located in East China's Shandong province – through handy and efficient mental health services.

The hospital has a mental health center with a raft of rooms and devices for psychological treatment. It regularly hosts the troops for psychological tests, consultations, and guidance and maintains health and follow-up records on each soldier.

The hospital also has a service team of psychiatrists, counselors, psychotherapists and social workers.

The team offers online and offline mental health services for the troops, such as counseling, stress relief, disorder identification and intervention. What’s more, the team visits different units – including the armed police, coast guard and fire rescue – and provides customized services according to their needs and challenges.

The hospital has served 4,500 people, including retired cadres, reserve recruits, new soldiers and firefighters. It aims to provide comprehensive and precise mental health services for the troops and help them enhance their physical and mental health. (Edited by Fan Yuanyuan)
