Yangxin county – located in East China's Shandong province – recently launched 31 Red Cross Bus Lines to provide emergency rescue services for bus drivers and passengers.
The county has also formed a volunteer service team of 200 bus drivers and equipped all 160 buses with emergency medical kits.
The county has trained drivers and some passengers on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the Heimlich maneuver, wound dressing and other first aid methods, through online and offline platforms. Since 2023, the county has trained 1,800 people and served more than 150 people in need.
Moving forward, the county transportation bureau said it would continue to improve the emergency rescue skills of bus drivers and the special line service, as well as offering more convenient and safe transportation for locals. (Edited by Fan Yuanyuan)
