Handicraft project boosts rural incomes in Shandong

Ningjin county – located in East China's Shandong province – has launched a Skillful Wealth Creation campaign in Shiji town to promote rural entrepreneurship in making hand-woven rattan chairs. The project has benefited more than 100 local women, who can now earn extra income while taking care of their families. The campaign has increased the average annual income of each participant by about 10,000 yuan ($1,407). (Edited by Fan Yuanyuan)
