Due to the recent cold wave, temperatures have continued to drop. In recent days, Dingtao district of Heze in Shandong province dispatched agricultural experts to the fields to teach fruit growers how to protect against the cold and frost. The aim is to improve the level of cultivation management and minimize the damages caused by low-temperature freezing to fruit growers.
Early in the morning, agricultural experts from the Dingtao district forestry service center arrived at the apple plantation in Yuantang village, Maji town, where they examined the growth of the fruit trees and checked for any signs of frost damage.
Due to the relatively high temperatures before winter, the trees shed their leaves later than usual, making them more susceptible to sudden extreme temperature drops and potential frost damage. The agricultural experts focused on strengthening tree management and provided face-to-face guidance to the fruit growers on cold and frost protection techniques.
The agricultural experts also addressed specific issues raised by farmers related to fruit tree management.
They provided on-site guidance and step-by-step instructions to the farmers, giving them a more comprehensive understanding of cold and frost protection technique for their fruit trees.
This hands-on approach proved effective, laying a solid foundation for increased fruit production and improved income for the farmers in the coming year. (Edited by Huang Junyao)
