Binzhou city mental health hospital helps servicemen
The Binzhou Youfu Hospital, a mental health facility – located in Binzhou city in East China's Shandong province – is leveraging its expertise and experience in serving veterans to provide mental health services to servicemen in the city.
Recognizing the need to boost its services and enhance their quality, the hospital revamped its Psychological Health Center by designing various functional rooms and treatment functions based on different psychological therapy models.
Advanced equipment – such as transcranial magnetic therapy devices, Heimans psychological CT scanners and group biofeedback therapy machines – have been acquired to create a professional platform for mental health services for military personnel.
The hospital regularly invites them to visit the Psychological Health Center, which uses self-assessment questionnaires and psychological tests and games.
Through these, the hospital accurately assesses each soldier's personality traits and needs, provides customized treatment plans, establishes health records and conducts regular follow-ups to keep track of their mental health status.

To ensure the continuity and effectiveness of its psychological health services, the hospital has established cooperative agreements with local troops and other military organizations.
These outline the service content, methods, frequency and collaborative promotions – achieving standardized, institutionalized and regular services for military personnel.
A "Sunshine Psychology" service team consisting of 26 mental health professionals – including psychiatrists, psychological counselors, psychotherapists and social workers – has been formed to provide comprehensive psychological health services through both on-site and online platforms.
