Embracing culture and civility: Jingu Community's journey towards a better community

Jingu Community in Yanggu county, Shandong province has successfully cultivated a vibrant cultural atmosphere that emphasizes the importance of reading, neighborly relations, and active citizen participation.
Established in 2004, Jingu Community covers an area of 1.03 square kilometers and is inhabited by 12,910 residents.
The Jingu Community has abundant cultural resources such as the historic Boji Ancient Bridge, the picturesque Zihui Lake, the county library building, and the Chinese culture museum.
The community Party committee has harnessed the cultural resources in the area to create a community known for its cultural heritage and scholarly pursuits. Their efforts have fostered a love for reading and a commitment to civility among residents.
The committee has also organized various reading activities, such as sharing sessions for college students and poetry recitations, as well as cultural events like the celebration of National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival that have benefiting over 7,600 people.
To create a warm living environment, the community Party committee, together with other organizations, has established a distinctive building culture centered around themes like scholarly buildings and filial piety buildings. Through activities like storytelling and other cultural programs, they have enhanced neighborly bonds and encouraged resident participation. (Edited by Jiang Ting)
