Manufacturer Jiaoxiang Food Co Ltd in Chengwu county – located in Heze city in East China's Shandong province – is set to export 1,500 metric tons of dried red chili peppers monthly to markets in Southeast Asia, Europe and the Americas.
That comes in the wake of the chili pepper industry's emergence as a key player in the county. It now boasts complete industry supply chains – covering planting, production, processing, warehousing, sales and research and development.
In recent years, the county has prioritized the development of its local chili pepper sector.
This focus has not only propelled the annual output value to an impressive 500 million yuan ($70.01 million) but has also significantly improved the lives of over a hundred locals. The average annual income per person has surged by 30,000 to 50,000 yuan, underscoring the positive impact of the chili pepper industry on the community. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
