Shandong boosts distribution of chronic disease medicine
The distribution of chronic disease medicine is continuing to be extended in East China's Shandong province, a process that began in recent years.
As a result, Lanling county in Linyi city in Shandong has been exploring smart management of its medical security, enabling chronic patients to get the medicine they need at home.
Lanling's healthcare security bureau has developed a medical and health service platform, allowing patients to receive online consultations. For patients with medicine delivery services, special personnel deliver medicine to their doors.
Supported by informatization, the platform integrates functions – such as prescription orders, reviews and confirmations, shipping and distribution, home deliveries of medicine and follow-up services.
Medical personnel conduct real-time audits on the platform, promoting parallel online orders and physical deliveries, as well as collaborative medical services and drug distribution.
Since the advent of the operation, the platform has benefited 170,000 individuals. It has achieved full coverage of medicine deliveries in the county, reducing travel, time and medicine costs for chronic illness patients. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
