The village's strawberries are known for their rich flavors as well as excellent texture and quality.
"The cultivated varieties include the high-quality, anthracnose-resistant Fengyu No 2 and the gray mold-resistant Xuelixiang. The yield per mu (about 666.67 square meters) can reach around 2,500 kg. Through picking activities and sales, the average per-mu income can reach about 75,000 ($10,497) to 80,000 yuan," said local strawberry grower Feng Delai.
Huanglugou village has been ramping up efforts to boost rural vitalization in recent years. One way it has been doing so is through the strawberry industry, which makes the most out of its geographical advantages and resources.
By extending the industrial chain and developing primary and deep processing industries, as well as tourism projects, the village aims to enhance the added value of the industry. This effort has since provided employment for 32 villagers. (Edited by Ding Yuanyuan)
