City in Shandong hosts tourism promotion event
The Linqing Cultural Tourism and Wanyuan Park Brand Promotion Conference was held in Linqing city, administered by Liaocheng city in East China's Shandong province, on Dec 4-5.
The conference has over 160 travel agencies and more than 50 tourism anchors. Linqing's tourism hot spots include the ancient Canal Tax Office, Aotouji ancient buildings, Sheli Pagoda, Wanyuan Park and East Wanyuan Park.
The event also established the Shandong Travel Agency Association Tourism Anchor Branch and organized the selection of the "Top Ten Tourism Anchors" in Shandong province.
Known as a historical and cultural city in Shandong province, Linqing was an important circulation hub and commercial center in China during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
It now has 27 provincial-level or above cultural heritage preservation units and 11 intangible cultural heritage items.
In recent years, Linqing has implemented 33 cultural and tourism projects with a total investment of 3.7 billion yuan ($520.41 million) to bolster the high-quality development of culture and tourism. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
