The Lanshan district of Linyi city – situated in East China's Shandong province – has this year been promoting the development and construction of projects for a "modern logistics city" located there.

Linyi is regarded as being one of the logistics capitals of China, with commercial logistics mainly concentrated in Lanshan district.

At the construction site of a smart logistics port project, construction workers were busy completing the exterior wall decoration work of the No 3 warehouse on Nov 26.

"Eighty-two percent of the project has now been completed, and the project is expected to start operating by the end of the year," said project manager Zhuang Qianyong.

The smart logistics port project is located in the international land port area of the modern logistics city, where an important regional international logistics hub for the Belt and Road Initiative will be built.

Previously, to ensure that policy was in line with the wishes of resident enterprises, the Lanshan Trade City Administrative Commission and related departments selected 87 people to conduct on-site research in 39 logistics parks and at 1,866 logistics enterprises.

At present, 108 industrial projects have been implemented in the modern logistics city, with a total investment of 53.4 billion yuan ($7.51 billion). (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
