District in Weifang accelerates industrial transformation, growth

In an ongoing commitment to prioritizing high-quality development, Weicheng district in Weifang, Shandong province has intensified efforts to boost its industrial economy throughout the year.

The district has undertaken significant initiatives in intelligent upgrades to transform its traditional industries, particularly in sectors such as equipment manufacturing, textiles and apparel, and food processing. The strategy revolves around the infusion of smart technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Weicheng has been also fostering emerging industries. With the establishment of 20 industrial parks, including a semiconductor (laser) industrial park, the district is creating an enabling environment for the growth of promising sectors.

Furthermore, Weicheng has attracted investment in 27 new projects, including a magnetic levitation transportation industrial base and an intelligent robot production base. Over 320 enterprises involved in the emerging sectors have started operating in these production bases or industrial parks. (Edited by Zhao Luyang)
