Xiangjia village in Weicheng district, Weifang, East China's Shandong province, has recently gone viral online with wall paintings.

Vivid lions, tigers, and cartoon characters painted on the walls contrast finely with the flowers and plants in front of the houses in Xiangjia, producing a romantic fairyland atmosphere.

From an unknown village to a social media influencer, Xiangjia's going popular is inseparable from the efforts of Pan Xinna, a post-1980s head of the village. It is Pan who came up with the wall painting idea and promoted Xiangjia on short-video platform Douyin.

Statistics show that in just three months, the village was visited by nearly 40,000 tourists.

With a better living environment and well-off lives, many local villagers that work in cities have returned home. Xiangjia is well on the way of getting better and wealthier. (Edited by Gong Jun)
