Grand Shandong fairs enrich cultural lives of locals
A number of grand fairs were recently held by Linqing city – administered by Liaocheng city in East China's Shandong province – in an initiative designed to enrich the cultural lives of its locals.
In particular, starting in October, 16 towns and 107 villages in Linqing city were organized to carry out 123 cultural and artistic performances to celebrate the harvest.
A literary and art exhibition event was staged in Dongliu village in Kangzhuang town, showcasing over 20 programs of songs, dances, operas, among other performances.
Elsewhere in a fair in Daxinzhuang sub-district, dance teams from various villages, young children and talented people gathered to perform a raft of different cultural entertainments.
"Our fairs often have cultural and artistic performances and villagers can watch while attending them," said Zhang Hanhong, a local, adding that nowadays the cultural life in the village was becoming increasingly varied and rich. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
