The golden chrysanthemums in Zhutian town, Feixian county, Shandong province recently entered the peak flowering season.
The town is home to over 2,000 mu (approximately 133.33 hectares) of medicinal herb planting bases. Chrysanthemums are one of the species grown in these bases.
In line with its business model that combines agriculture with education and tourism, Zhutian town has launched various programs that allow people to learn about traditional Chinese medicine through activities such as herb identification, exercises, and medical consultation.
More than 30 study groups consisting of over 2,000 students and parents have participated in these programs.
The integration of agriculture, science, education, production and research has become a pathway for rural vitalization in Zhutian town.
The local government has been offering technical guidance throughout the agricultural production process, facilitating collaboration between agricultural entities and research institutions, introducing new technologies and varieties, and fostering new business models such as cultural study programs for traditional Chinese medicine, tea culture experiences and grape-picking.
