Livestreaming fuels agricultural sales in Guanxian
To propel digitalization and rural revitalization, Guanxian county, a county administered by Liaocheng in Shandong province, is riding on the development of e-commerce, notably through a series of livestreaming activities.
Guanxian county treats e-commerce as a catalyst for economic growth, fostering talent and creating platforms for innovative approaches and activities.
The county's training program reflects 14,100 rural e-commerce professionals, fueling a 46.7 percent year-on-year increase in online retail sales, totaling 1.49 billion yuan ($210.32 million) as of October in 2023.

The county also established an E-commerce Public Service Center, a comprehensive platform integrating resources to create a demonstrative effect for e-commerce aggregation. Bao Xiao Nian, a brand successfully incubated at the center, boasts more than 1,400 orders daily on various shopping platforms and a semi-annual revenue exceeding 3 million yuan.
The county has accelerated the development of a logistics system, allowing for the faster transportation of industrial and agricultural products. The county's innovative approach has attracted a variety of enterprises, with a 400-square-meter livestreaming space, which consists of multiple online salesrooms dedicated to the agricultural sector.
Adapting to the new sales method, Guanxian county's agricultural sector is keeping pace with the market development, making its products more accessible to customers nationwide. (Edited by Hu Haoshu)
