Dong'e Yuyantang, a professional manufacturer of donkey-hide gelatin products in Dong'e county, East China's Shandong province, has been expanding its production capacity for its functional health product line.
Dong'e is a major production hub of donkey-hide gelatin in China. This kind of gelatin is often used in traditional Chinese medicine.
The company, which operates advanced automated production lines that utilize state-of-the-art 3D fusion powder and ultra-microfilm separation tablet production units, sells more than 20 products like DHA algae oil and ferric chloride hemoglobin.
Yuyantang is projected to generate an annual revenue of 700 million yuan ($98.25 million) this year.
Yuyantang and Zhengyuan Herbal Medicine Project, a company that manufactures traditional Chinese medicinal pastes and herbal products, have been pivotal to the county's efforts to create multi-billion industrial clusters focused on gelatin-based products and bio-medicine.
Dong'e county's industrial performance in the first three quarters has outperformed expectations. Completion rates of investment plans for 14 provincial and 16 municipal key projects stand at 91 percent and 93 percent respectively.
The county's four key industries—gelatin, biopharmaceuticals, high-end manufacturing, and building materials—showed robust year-on-year growth in output, revenue, and profit, with increases of 8.6 percent, 5.3 percent, and 42 percent, respectively. (Edited by Yang Yi)
