Expats discover traditional Chinese clothing in Shandong
Expats from Russia, Ghana, South Africa and Jamaica were recently enchanted when they were invited to experience traditional Chinese clothing at a cultural exchange event held at the Tianxi Han Clothing and Tangzhuang Base – in Shanxian county, located in Heze city in East China's Shandong province.
Xu Qingwei, the founder of the base, took the opportunity to share his insights into the distinct features of traditional Han clothing and Tangzhuang – Chinese-style suits – with the visitors.
"Han clothing is crafted from light, thin gauze fabric, featuring a slanted lapel that allows for overlap, " he said.
"In contrast, Tangzhuang is made from heavier hemp material and opts for a straight, symmetrical collar design".
During the event, the expats tried on the exquisite garments showcased in the exhibition hall. A Russian female participant, adorned in blue and white Han clothing, perfectly showcased the beauty of the attire.
Her fair complexion complemented the colors and the cross-collar and waist tie accentuated her slender figure. With a half-up bun hairstyle, paired with traditional Chinese hair accessories, a fan and other thoughtful touches, the overall look evoked classical charm and natural elegance.

"As sales have continued to soar in recent years, we are gradually expanding our production scale, with the hope that more people around the world will fall in love with the allure of Han clothing and Tangzhuang," Xu added. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
