In the bustling workshops of Weifang Veda Machinery Co Ltd, German industrialist and mechanical engineering expert Michael Robby is spearheading efforts to innovate.

After extensive exploration along China's coast in 2013, Robby, impressed by Shandong province's amiable people and Weifang's robust industrial foundation, chose the city for his entrepreneurial venture.

Under Robby's leadership, Veda has developed several cutting-edge technologies, addressing domestic dependencies on imported high-end pump and drilling motor equipment. The company's achievements include eight patents successfully notched in Germany, Canada, and the United States, solidifying its status as a high-tech-oriented enterprise.

Robby seamlessly integrated advanced management into the company, fostering talent and propelling international expansion. Recognizing Weifang's business-friendly environment, he actively contributes to Sino-German trade relations.

Beyond business, Robby, recognized as an honorary citizen by Weifang as well as Shandong province, serves as a cultural ambassador. By sharing Weifang's traditional crafts in Germany and beyond, he deepens cultural exchanges.

In a recent interview, Robby expressed hope for more cultural events in Germany that showcase Weifang's culinary culture and kites at international festivals. He aspires to share his Weifang journey globally, emphasizing the city's rich history and culture.
