Dong'e county – situated in Liaocheng city in East China's Shandong province – has been making significant improvements to its public services in recent years.

It's taken steps to streamline administrative procedures, reduce bureaucracy and bolster efficiency.

One notable achievement is the establishment of a one-stop service center in the local administrative approvals service bureau, where citizens can access a wide range of government services under one roof.

The center is said to have greatly simplified the applications process for various permits and certificates – saving time and reducing the hassle for residents.

In addition, Dong'e has made efforts to digitize its services to enhance their accessibility.

Online platforms have been created for tasks such as business registrations, tax filings and employment registration. This has not only made it more convenient for locals, but also improved transparency and reduced the risk of corruption.

Furthermore, the county has implemented measures to boost public participation and accountability.

It's held regular town hall meetings, where officials engage with residents, listen to their concerns and provide updates on government initiatives. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
