Shandong farmers move it up to harvest sorghum

The sorghum farmers in the Dingtao district of Heze city – located in East China's Shandong province – are currently hard at it harvesting their crop.

"The yield is good. Dealers come directly to the fields to collect the sorghum, bringing us great profits," said local grower Deng Guangrong.
Dingtao district has been restructuring its agricultural sector, promoting the development of specialist sectors and encouraging the growth of pre-ordered sorghum.
The district is also collaborating with big brewing companies to support farmers and increase agricultural efficiency and incomes, contributing to rural vitalization.
Sorghum is a low-maintenance crop that requires minimal management and is drought-tolerant. After harvesting, it doesn't interfere with the planting of wheat, allowing a successful harvest the following year. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
