Some residents in Yangxin county, Binzhou, Shandong province, no longer need to go to the hospital for routine check-ups or minor ailments as they can get free health care and education from medical staff at their community health stations.

The health stations, which were set up by the Yangxin County People's Hospital, were formerly used as community fever clinics and are part of efforts by the hospital to bring high-quality and accessible health services to the residents, especially the elderly and those with chronic diseases.

Each health station is manned by a doctor and a nurse, both of whom also act as the station managers and coordinators.

The county also has an online platform that allows patients or their families to book specialized nursing services, such as stomach tube care, surgical wound care, and blood collection. The hospital will send trained professional nurses to provide door-to-door service at appointed times, allowing patients to receive professional nursing service in the comfort of their homes.

According to the hospital, the six health stations in the county have provided free inspection services for more than 6,300 people, and the online platform has provided door-to-door services more than 90 times. (Edited by Fan Yuanyuan)
