Little giant enterprises boom in Shandong's district
The Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology recently unveiled the list of "little giant" enterprises in 2023 that are based in East China's Shandong province.
The term refers to novel and elite small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in niche markets, with significant growth and innovation potential.
Among the total of 34 little giants recognized in the coastal city of Yantai – located in Shandong – its Laishan district celebrated the inclusion of four local companies in this prestigious roster, the second biggest number in the city.

This achievement is said to highlight the proactive approach of local companies in pursuing this much-prized status – and emphasizes the district's commitment to specialization, refinement, uniqueness and creativity.
Recent years have seen Laishan district take the lead in driving real economic growth through specialized and innovative businesses.
Moving forwards, plans are for it to fine-tune its support system for SMEs – guiding them through the complexities of innovation-oriented upgrades and addressing challenges as they arise.
The ultimate goal is to cultivate more little giants and bolster the high-quality development of the local economy. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
