Laishan makes robust efforts to boost employment
Laishan district – located in Yantai city in East China's Shandong province – recently hosted an online lecture for local enterprises and universities.
The live broadcast of the lecture reached an impressive audience of 38,000 viewers, and it offered 230 job positions.
The online lecture is just one of many efforts made by Laishan district to boost its employment rate in general.
This year, the district increased its efforts to meet the hiring needs of local businesses and address the challenges posed by a competitive job market. Once of the ways the district did this was by initiating comprehensive surveys to assess the labor demands of 156 key local businesses.
In addition, the district organized a total of 26 online and on-site recruitment events, as well as 10 lectures in campuses, enterprises and communities to publicize related talent policies. As a result, over 3,500 high-quality job opportunities from over 170 enterprises were made available to job seekers, spanning industries such as machinery manufacturing, electronics, biomedicines, food processing and e-commerce.
In addition to these initiatives, Laishan district has rolled out a wide range of recruitment services and employment guidance activities aimed at encouraging businesses to hire individuals facing employment difficulties. Currently, it has provided subsidies to 93 local businesses, which, in turn, have benefited 135 employees who were facing challenges in securing employment.
It's widely recognized that employment is not only an indicator of economic development but also a cornerstone of social stability. Laishan district's ongoing commitment to enhancing both the quantity and quality of employment opportunities enables residents to gain confidence in the local economy. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
