Shandong builds youth hostels for graduates seeking employment
Yantai's Laishan district – located in East China's Shandong province – has recently opened its doors to graduates that are seeking employment or entrepreneurship opportunities in the area by constructing 11 free youth hostels.

The development of these youth hostels has been made possible through the collaboration between local entrepreneurs and the government. The government takes on the responsibility for project implementation and promotion, while the hotels offer their facilities and manage the daily operations of the hostels, ensuring high-level services for the graduates.
These hostels ease the burden on graduates who are seeking employment in Laishan and thus need accommodations. They also provide a meaningful way for hotel entrepreneurs to give back to the community while effectively addressing daily management and operational challenges.
To make it easier for graduates to check in at these hostels, the district has developed a WeChat mini-program with various functions including "I want to check in," "Check-in rules," "Application criteria," and "Check-in process".
Looking ahead, plans are set for Laishan district to continue to develop facilities like these youth hostels. The district's ultimate goal is to attract more professionals that are seeking employment, entrepreneurship opportunities, and a rewarding lifestyle. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
