Dezhou farmers prosper thanks to daisies, waxy corn
Farmers in Wucheng county of Dezhou city, East China's Shandong province, have welcomed the harvest season for their daisy flowers and waxy corn crops.
A few years ago, Ligusi village was just an ordinary village that only relied on farming to earn income.
After doing comprehensive research, village officials decided to grow daisies and waxy corns as featured crops in order to ensure the village's prosperity.
The village's Party branch has also signed an order-based production contract with a third-party company, realizing a model of "guaranteed returns + secondary dividends".
Thanks to the cultivation of these two crops, the collective income of Ligusi village reached over 900,000 yuan ($123,467) this year. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
