Shandong streamlines services, boosts business environment
In the first three quarters of the year, the Lin'gang district of Weihai city – located in East China's Shandong province – has been proactively developing a smarter service system and streamlining its integrated approvals processes.
The goal is to boost the quality and efficiency of local government services and contribute to an improved business environment.
According to the latest statistics, by the end of September the total number of businesses in the district had reached 12,973 with a registered capital of 29.19 billion yuan ($4 billion), representing a 9.63 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
Zhang Peng, head of the Weihai Pengshengda Transport Facilities project, said that obtaining a project approval certificate in the past was a complicated process that involved visiting multiple departments and submitting different paperwork to each one.
This not only increased the workload, but also prolonged the processing time. However, in Lin'gang all the required documents can now be submitted at one-stop service windows, making the process hassle-free and more efficient.

Currently, Lin'gang has integrated 25 key procedures for construction project approval into a unified chain and set up comprehensive service windows with trained personnel.
Since their inception, they've processed 206 projects, handling 408 construction-related procedures – reducing the number of business visits by more than 30 percent and improving processing efficiency by over 60 percent. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
