Shandong's city economy boosted by new manufacturing projects
The Lin'gang district of Weihai city – located in East China's Shandong province – has harnessed key projects as the main engine driving its economic growth over the past few years.
They're are said to have been of major significance to the district, which is focused on promoting its industrialization and fostering advanced manufacturing.
Currently, the district's new healthcare industrial park, owned and operated by Ucanrely New Medical Technology (Weihai) Co Ltd, is bustling with activity. At the moment, the sound of machinery and construction equipment fills the air while workers get busy putting the finishing touches on the exterior walls of the construction site.

The park is said to be an excellent example of how the pharmaceutical and medical device industries are rapidly expanding in the district. The park has received a total investment of 800 million yuan ($109.52 million) and covers an area of around 160,000 square meters.
During the first phase, plans are for the park to introduce high-end equipment from countries like Italy and Japan. In the second phase, a production line will be installed that can produce 40 million bottles of natural health beverages each year.
Leading local manufacturer Weihai Guangtai Airport Equipment Co Ltd, a one-stop ground support equipment provider, has also been attracted to the high-quality business environment in Lin'gang district.
The past few years have witnessed the company and the district developing a close collaborative relationship. That's as the district has provided desirable full-process services, from handling startup procedures and applying for the company's advanced technology status, to environmental approvals.
As a result, Guangtai decided to establish another production plant in the district.
The first phase will mainly make emergency rescue equipment for firefighting and medical purposes. The second phase will focus on manufacturing emergency firefighting drones and other related products.
The heavy-duty, long-endurance emergency firefighting drones are projected to fill a gap in the domestic market. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
