Yi nationality has fun at Torch Festival

Yi ethnic villagers dance in a circle in celebration of Torch Festival, which falls on the 24th day of the 6th lunar month, at Pingzi village, Maozu town, Qiaojia county, Zhaotong city, Southwest China's Yunnan province, August 3, 2010. The custom of Torch Festival originated from the Yi ancestors' worship of fire. They held activities to propitiate their deity, drive away bad luck and pray for a plentiful harvest. [Photo/Xinhua]
