Ongoing efforts to strengthen breached dyke
Paramilitary policemen and local residents pass stones used to strengthen a dyke in Hotan county of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, August 3, 2010. Over 15,000 paramilitary policemen and civil militia were motivated to seal the breach and strengthen the dyke of the Karakash River which saw a 120-meter breach on August 1.
