The Chinese government will promote innovation in public services and discuss further innovation with European countries.

State Councillor Hua Jianmin made the statement on Tuesday when addressing the opening ceremony of the China-Europe Forum on Government Management.

He claimed that China has established a social security system focusing on pensions, healthcare and unemployment.

Under the system, significant progress has been made in areas such as population control, expansion of education, the elimination of poverty, job creation and environmental protection.

More than 200 officials and experts from some ten countries are attending the two-day forum.
