Naqsha Bibi

Miraculous survivor: Naqsha Bibi is lucky to be alive. This 40-year-old woman was remarkably found alive in the ruins of her house near Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, on December 10, 2005  63 days after she was buried in the October 8 Kashmir earthquake. It is believed that she was buried in the ruins of her kitchen.
At the time of her rescue she weighed less than 35 kilograms, less than half the average weight of a woman of her build, and her muscles were frozen in a foetal position. However, she is expected to recover.
