'African Cultures in Focus 2016' opens in Beijing

As an important part of African Cultures in Focus 2016 event, the exhibition is divided into three sections, presenting 90 paintings created by Chinese and African artists in African theme.

The first section of the exhibition, "Colorful Tanzania: Tingatinga", presents 30 famous Tingatinga paintings and 10 artworks created by two Tanzanian artists. Tingatinga is a widely known painting style in Tanzania with boasts bright color, smooth line and bold imagination.

In the second section, visitors can see paintings of African nature and culture from more than 20 Chinese artists who are the pioneers of "urban ink painting" school. Their works represent new exploration of Chinese ink painting, which employs traditional brush and ink techniques of China to depict foreign, contemporary sceneries and objects.
