Gong Li center stage helping promote Chinese movies to west

Gong Li, a prolific Chinese actress, attended the launching ceremony of the global distribution platform for Chinese movies on Jan 15, 2016.

As reported, the platform was set up after Chinese movie box offices reached 44 billion yuan (US$6.6 billion) in 2015 showing a promising potential for markets abroad. The platform is set to help promote Chinese movies to western markets, and release movies overseas.

Gong's new film, The Monkey King 2, will screen in Chinese cinemas during the Spring Festival. Later, it will be released in over 50 cities around the world.
