Large Medium SmallA road collapse on the east Fourth Ring Road in Beijing was caused by subsidence during construction of a water pipeline, authorities said.
Emergency workers are pumping water but nearby neighborhoods have not had any disruption to heating or water supplies, said Beijing Waterworks Group.
The water pipeline broke on Sunday night.
