Two of the 13 boats used for ferrying Expo visitors across the Huangpu River between Puxi and Pudong districts will now (starting May 24) be used as evening cruise boats, said Li Dejin, vice-director of the Expo Water Operation Center.

The cruises start at 7:15 pm and three journeys a night, each 40 minutes long. Leaving from a pier near the Japan Pavilion, the boats will travel to the Puxi side of the river before returning.

"Passengers can see the world's largest LED screen (9,000 square meters), the China Pavilion, the Japan Pavilion, Sunshine Valley, the Expo Performance Center and the musical fountain, with performances coinciding with the cruise schedule," said Li.

The service began on May 24. Tickets cost 30 yuan ($4.4).
