Doctors in Anshan, Liaoning province, took out a 0.8-cm-long red louse from a man's eye last Thursday.

Doctors said that the louse was a "thelazia callipaeda", which is mostly found in the eyes of dogs.

Wang Bin, the patient, said he once kept five dogs at home, and the louse possibly entered his eye while playing with his pets.
