TAIPEI -- Kuomintang won 81 of the 113 seats in Taiwan's "legislature" elections Saturday, while the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) got 27 ones, according to local media.

Chen Shui-bian announced Saturday evening that he resigned the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) due to the party's failure in Taiwan "legislature" election.
