BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi vowed here Thursday China will further enhance relations with Serbia.

"We will never change our policy of actively developing ties with Serbia, no matter how the situation in the west Balkan region and international situation change," Yang told visiting Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic.

Speaking positively of the China-Serbia ties, Yang said China will work with Serbia to further tap the potential of bilateral cooperation and better develop the friendly cooperation between China and Serbia.

Jeremic, who is paying a three-day visit since Wednesday, said Serbia attached great importance to the relations with China.

He said Serbia will firmly adhere to the one-China policy, and opposes the referendum on UN membership in the name of Taiwan by the Taiwan authorities.

Serbia appreciates China's positive role in international affairs, and would like to maintain consultation and cooperation with China on multilateral issues, said Jeremic.

The two ministers signed cooperation agreements after the talks.
