Christine Lee & Co Solicitors, the largest law firm in the United Kingdom specializing in services for Chinese clients and businesses, has launched a joint venture with a local company in Beijing, eyeing the demand in China as many Chinese pick UK as a top investment and emigration destination and want professional legal advice.

The joint project with Beijing Round Immigration Consultant Service Co Ltd was launched on Saturday. Officials from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the launching ceremony.

Before this project, the UK-based firm had already set up offices in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

With a history of over two decades, Christine Lee & Co has offices in London and Birmingham and serves business and private clients in trade, corporate business, finance, real estate, civil litigation and other legal areas.

Christine Lee, founder and head of the law firm, said she hopes the joint venture can offer clients professional and considerate services, protecting the safety and rights of Chinese people who invest, study or live in the UK.

Lee, an influential and active figure in the Chinese community in the UK, is chief legal advisor to the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom. Working with Chinese government departments, she has made great efforts in promoting the rights of Chinese in the UK.

Being the only Chinese-owned UK law firm approved by the Chinese Ministry of Justice to set up offices in China, Christine Lee & Co aims to act as a bridge, strengthening economic and trade ties between China and the UK, said Lee during the ceremony.

The firm is also one of the legal experts recommended to overseas enterprises by the UK Trade and Investment government agency.

Deng Zhiong, general manager of Beijing Round Immigration Consultant Service, said she hoped the cooperation will bring more business opportunities to China-UK trade.
