Uniqlo, the Japanese apparel brand owned by Fast Retailing Co Ltd, is officially unveiling its brand-new global flagship store in Shanghai on Friday, marking an important milestone in its long-term commitment to the Chinese market.

Covering about 2,800 square meters, the three-story building represents a significant expansion in both space and services over the previous global flagship store, located just a few blocks away on Shanghai's Middle Huaihai Road. The previous global flagship store opened in 2013.

"This place is still full of energy. It's a bit different from 13 years ago, but what hasn't changed is that it's still full of vitality and business life. So we wanted to reopen here and provide even better service," Huang Jiaying, marketing director of Uniqlo China, said.

After operating in the world's second-largest economy for more than two decades, the brand has consistently regarded China as an important market globally and a key driver of innovation and growth, Huang said.

The new Uniqlo Shanghai Global Flagship Store, an important upgrade in space and services, is intended to showcase Uniqlo's commitment to deepening its engagement with the Chinese market and improving store quality, the shopping experience and local relevance.

In addition to the full range of the latest seasonal collections for men, women, kids, and babies, the store would also offer diverse experiences including Shanghai city exclusive items, Uniqlo Shanghai special products, brand-new collaboration series with designers, personalized T-shirt UTme, and tax refund services.

It combines the brand's clothing-for-life concept LifeWear, with Shanghai's culture and lifestyle, positioning the flagship store as a benchmark for LifeWear with a local touch.
