Chinese solar firm sees energy storage shipments surge

Making solar photovoltaic power a reliable energy source means it cannot rely on weather conditions alone. The solution lies in integrated solar-plus-storage systems.

Trina Solar, based in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, saw its energy storage shipments exceed 5 GWh in the first half of this year, up 188 percent year-on-year. More than 90 percent of its shipments went to overseas markets.
