China's first all-solid-state battery cell meeting new national standard begins production
China's first all-solid-state battery cell meeting the newly released national standard for solid-state batteries officially rolled off the production line on Tuesday in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.
It became the first all-solid-state battery in the country to pass authoritative testing by China Automotive Battery Research Institute Co and commence mass production following the introduction of the new national standard in August.
With controllable costs, the energy density of the all-solid-state battery cells ranges from 260 to 480 Wh/kg. Its cycle life is comparable to conventional batteries, and it supports stable fast charging. It was developed by Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology Co.
At a ceremony marking its mass production on Tuesday, the company signed strategic cooperation agreements with several companies to commercialize all-solid-state batteries in high-end electric motorcycles, the low-altitude economy, computing power centers, and high-end energy storage scenarios.
The company is based in Guangzhou's Nansha district, which has become a hub for battery storage companies and leading vehicle and intelligent network companies.
