Former Chongqing mayor under probe
Huang Qifan, former mayor of Chongqing, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, China's top anti-corruption authorities announced on Tuesday. The announcement was published online by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. No further details were released. Huang, 74, a native of Zhejiang province, began his career as a worker at a coking plant in September 1968 and joined the CPC in March 1976, according to public records. Harbin ice-and-snow park to expand further
Harbin Ice-Snow World in Northeast China — the world's largest ice-and-snow theme park — will set a new record this winter by expanding its site to 1.25 million square meters, using a total of 400,000 cubic meters of ice and snow. The announcement was made on Monday at the opening ceremony of the 2026-2027 ice-and-snow season promotion event, held by the Heilongjiang provincial ice-and-snow tourism development promotion association. In February, the globally renowned winter attraction in Harbin, Heilongjiang's provincial capital, received more than 120,000 visitors in a single day — a historic high — winning praise from domestic and international tourists. The park is expected to feature more than 1,000 ice-and-snow structures this winter, with six major sections dedicated to ice-and-snow landscapes, amusement experiences, performances, ice-and-snow competitions, themed IP and supporting services.
