On Sept 26, Huang secured the gold medal with a total score of 749.

According to local media, Huang's interest in the trade began in the countryside of his hometown. As a child, he was often captivated by construction workers mixing cement and lime. He and his friends would mimic them, building small houses out of mud.

After graduating from middle school at 15, Huang enrolled in Hunan Technician College of Science and Technology Engineering to study construction engineering. During his first year, he spent much of his free time in the training building, observing older students practice, where he discovered the appeal of mastering a craft.
