CFMOTO's Sun claims historic ESBK Talent Championship

Chinese motorcycle maker CFMOTO is beginning to see returns from its long-term investment in global motorsports after 13-year-old rider Sun Shengbo became the first Chinese racer to clinch Spain's ESBK Talent Championship.

Sun secured the 2026 ESBK Talent title with races still remaining after claiming another victory at Navarra. The teenager has won nine of the season's 12 races and finished second once, opening a 98-point lead in the standings.

The title also earned Sun the series' Gold Helmet, awarded annually to the ESBK Talent champion. He becomes the first Chinese rider to claim the honor in Spain’s premier youth road-racing competition, one of Europe’s top-level series for young racing talents.

The achievement marks another milestone for CFMOTO Racing Talent Project , which has expanded beyond competing in international championships to developing young riders capable of progressing through Europe's motorcycle racing ladder.

Sun is a graduate of the company's CFMOTO Racing Talent Project, developed in partnership with Europe’s legendary Aspar Team, one of the sport's best-known rider development organizations. He is expected to continue his career in the European Moto4 and Moto3 Junior categories, widely regarded as stepping stones to Grand Prix motorcycle racing.

The result offers early validation of CFMOTO's strategy of investing not only in factory racing teams but also in grassroots talent development as Chinese manufacturers seek greater credibility in global motorsports.
