County in Hebei brings clearer rules to collectible walnut trade

The shift extends well beyond individual growers. Laishui has established 12 shared livestreaming studios for local farmers and merchants, while nearly 100 e-commerce training sessions have reached more than 20,000 participants. A dedicated livestreaming base at the county's new walnut trading center also provides product display, livestreaming, warehousing, and logistics services, according to county authorities.

The expansion of online sales has helped collectible walnuts move beyond traditional local trading networks. It has also increased the need for clearer and more consistent ways to describe, grade, and pair products when buyers may never handle them before making a purchase.

Laishui has developed an industry spanning cultivation, processing, carving, and e-commerce, creating more than 20,000 jobs. The county said the sector helps increase the incomes of about 80,000 farming households.
