Lifting of ban on journalists sought

An association representing hundreds of journalists who cover the White House demanded on Saturday the restoration of access for banned colleagues, calling the removal unconstitutional. "Today's action revoking access for journalists from CNN, Politico, and MS NOW violates the First Amendment," the White House Correspondents' Association said, urging the US administration "to immediately restore our colleagues' access". The White House on Saturday denied access to journalists from the three media organizations, following US President Donald Trump's announcement. All three news outlets separately said their teams' press passes were confiscated on Saturday morning when their journalists went to the White House.
