Ancient Zhuang villages enter autumn viewing season on Guangxi terraces

The ancient Zhuang villages atop the Longji terraced field in Longsheng county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, have entered their prime autumn viewing season, with vibrant sun-drying harvest displays stretching from early September through October.

Every corner of the villages bursts with colorful autumn hues. Residents here spread fiery red chili peppers, golden corn cobs, and orange pumpkins neatly across rooftop terraces, wooden drying platforms, and under building eaves.

With a history spanning more than 1,000 years, the local village preserves the region's largest and best-preserved cluster of traditional stilt houses.

According to local tourism authorities, the terraced rice fields will reach their golden peak in October. The iconic village sun-drying scenery will remain on full display throughout the entire autumn, lasting until the rice fully ripens and is harvested later in the fall.
