Zheng Leyuan, a Chinese student at Kyrgyz National University in Bishkek, often sees local residents' faces light up when they learn she is from China. "Where in China are you from? Beijing or Hangzhou?" they ask. From practicing Chinese and Russian together to proudly pointing out everyday items from China, Zheng has found China-Kyrgyzstan friendship woven into daily life. As the SCO Summit 2026 convened in the Kyrgyz capital, she saw that friendship reflected not only in summit meetings, but also in every warm conversation and shared moment.
